Today was amazing, i got to sleep in, then made my way into the city to meet Antje at the Flomarkt. Here she treated me to many things, including my most precious gift here, an acustic guitar and a promise to teach me how to play, a dream i have had many years now. After the fun made at the giant Market, we both headed to her house for the last of the moving. Now begins the harder work, renovation on the new house. Gute Nacht.... :)

Today was the last day of school before “Herbst Ferien” or Fall Break. And man, i could not be happier. This vacation will be legendary, never before have i been able to take any sort of break from school to Spain. What we’re actually getting a vacation from is the northern german weather, we’ll escape the dreary, rainy, weather from the place i love, to hot sunny beaches, and hotter party spots :) within reason of course. Anyways, as i already found out earlier, i’m very quickly falling asleep at the wheel, so i wish you all a... Gute Nacht :)

These past few days with my dear friend Rodrigo have been the best. We had involved ourselves in many outdoor activities with my amazing Host Brother, Corvin, and his tiny friend, Joris. Today we found ourselves scrambling against time to prepare for our journey to Spain which occurs tomorrow. Part of preparing is by getting a hold of one’s finances, which we had to try 5 different banks in Kiel to achieve. At this very moment we are suffering from some problems with our finances but i have high hopes that by our flight tomorrow, we will have them resolved... WISH ME THE BEST OF LUCK... Gute Nacht :)

SPAIN TRIP!
i find that keeping up with this journal on a regular basis is becoming more and more difficult. Regardless, here are my updates.... Saturday we just returned from our more than spectacular Spain vacation, it was a full trip, complete with good times, good friends, and memories that will last me an eternity. We had flown into Girona, Barcelona from Bremen Germany and immediately took off, our first stop was Roses, and it did NOT disappoint, a beautiful city. On one of our days there we took a drive out to the Cliffs, where we took a jump into the Mediterranean Sea. From there we drove to our second stop, Barcelona, where we visited to museum of the Artist, Dali. This guy is either VERY enlightened, crazy, or i just don’t understand art. While in Barcelona, Rodrigo and I, had also walked down to the Camp Nou Stadium (for his mom’s sake, a die-hard Barca-fan), we both decided to save our money for the tour in Bernabeu Real Madrid stadium though... After enough time in Barcelona we drove to our third stop in Llorett de Mar, a city nearby, where we shopped till we dropped with the girls, then had a night out on the town. The Next day the whole group traveled to the ever so amazing Monastery that was up in the mountains.. worth the trip, absolutely extraordinary. After that, we drove to stop numero quecho (4.. my spanish was/is terrible), Valencia, where we only spent one night, in a dingy hostel, yet the city was beautiful enough and we made the best of those 24 hours, taking in the beautiful sights, the warm sunny air, and the Cortes Ingles (a shopping mall.. once again, for the girls). Stop number five was my second favorite, Alicante. We stayed in the most beautiful hotel RIGHT on the coast, our view from morning to night was of blue Sea and the sun’s gleaming light. Here we tried Spain’s ever-famous dish, Paella, a rice based dish with sea-food mixed in, wasn’t my favorite, but i had to try it... we had much fun here, and us four (Rodrigo, Paola, Anya, and myself) were an inseparable group. After leaving the lovely city, we left for our last stop, and the ‘Grand de la Resistance’ ….. MADRID!!! While the weather started to not cooperate the entire stay in Madrid, it was perfect. Upon arrival the very first thing that Rodrigo and I wanted to do was visit the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu, Real Madrid Football Stadium. However, we thought it better to save it for the next day, instead we first sought out Rodrigo’s Aunt that lives in the city and she took us on the tour of a lifetime, to the Royal Palace, the Kings Gardens, and all the points worth knowing. THEN, we dined like KINGS, they cooked a traditional Peruvian meal, made of rice, meat, potatoes covered in a spicey, sauce of some sorts.. overall... the best food i have EVER eaten! Our tour of the Bernabeu was graciously paid for by Rodrigo’s family to whom i am ever grateful..... I am sure that I am missing many crucial details, and i am ALSO sure that if one were to merely ask any question i could recall to answer, thus feel free to email me or contact me on facebook or skype... Rotary has given me the Trip of a lifetime to Germany, and this trip to spain was just another experience that will make me into the man i will be the rest of my life... a man of many cultures, a man of many homes, a man of connections, and a man of Rotary International. <3
Gute Nacht... :)
Hi,
ReplyDeleteThe United States is a huge country and has six time zones. Most universities offer long summer holidays and different travel schemes to the students, so that they can explore the rich geographical and cultural diversity of the country. Even if you aren’t the travelling type of person, you must not let go a chance to see this wonderful country.
